Man Taken To Hospital After Fiery Crash

Le Mars, Iowa — A Nebraska man was taken to a hospital after a fiery crash near Le Mars early on Saturday morning.

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 2:15 AM, emergency responders were called to a single-vehicle accident about two miles west of LeMars on Highway 3 near Kestrel Avenue. When deputies arrived on scene, they report that the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and the single occupant had been pulled away from the vehicle by passers-by. Le Mars Ambulance and Fire assisted on scene.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the driver was 40-year-old Jesse David Compton of Decatur, NE. They say his condition is considered serious at this time, and that the investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
