Peterson, Iowa — A Peterson man has died as the result of a crash near Peterson.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 10:55 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2015, 16-year-old Steven Taylor of Peterson was driving a 2002 Chevy southbound on M27, about a mile and a three quarters north of Peterson. Thirty-seven year-old Steven Kozelka of Peterson had been driving a 2006 Ford that had become disabled and was parked southbound on M27. They report that there was a third vehicle, a 2001 Chevy Blazer, parked facing northbound in front of the disabled Ford.
The report says that Kozelka was out of his vehicle and working on it when Taylor struck the rear Kozelka’s Ford, which hit the Blazer and Kozelka.
Kozelka’s injuries were fatal.
The Spencer Ambulance took Taylor to the Spencer Hospital.
Emergency responders from Spencer and Peterson assisted at the scene.
