Sheldon, Iowa — No injuries were reported in a 2-vehicle accident that happened about 5 pm on Wednesday (September 7th) on Park Street in eastern Sheldon.
According to the accident report, a 2003 Dodge Stratus, driven by 25-year old Cody Schnider of Sheldon, was westbound on Park Street when a vehicle in front on him slowed suddenly to turn. The report says Schnider was able to stop in time, but a 1999 Freightliner tractor-trailer, which was following Schnider, and driven by 34-year old Phillip Westra of Boyden, was not, and lightly bumped the rear of Schnider’s car.
Police estimated the damage to Schnider’s Stratus to be $3,800, while the Freightliner sustained an estimated $500 damage.
No injuries were reported.
