OC Woman Taken To Hospital After ATV Rollover

Alton, Iowa — An Orange City woman was taken to the hospital in the wee hours of Monday morning after an ATV, on which she was a passenger, rolled over.

According to the Orange City Police Department, the mishap occurred about 1:45 Monday morning when a Honda ATV, driven by 29-year-old Jeffrey Allen Burdette, Jr, of Orange City, was driving on a private ATV track at Alton Rivers Edge MX Park.

Burdette reportedly told authorities that he tried to scale an embankment with the ATV when it lost speed and rolled over, causing both Burdette and his passenger, 41-year-old Bridget Ann Fairbanks of Orange City, to fall from the back of the vehicle, which then rolled over on top of them.

Fairbanks was taken to the Orange City Area Health System by the Alton Ambulance.

Officials say Burdette was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Orange City Police were assisted at the scene by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Alton Ambulance and the Orange City Ambulance
