UPDATE:
Sioux City, Iowa — The driver in a serious early-morning crash on Monday in Plymouth County has been identified, and has died as a result of her injuries, according to the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the victim was 56-year-old Kristine McElroy of Sioux City.
They tell us she was operating a 2015 Audi passenger car northbound on Highway 75 at mile marker 119, which is on the Highway 75 bypass of Le Mars. The vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a guard rail and the support pole of an overhead highway sign.
McElroy died at a Sioux City hospital on Tuesday, July 27th.
The sheriff’s office says the crash remains under investigation.

Le Mars, Iowa — The driver of a vehicle involved in a single-vehicle crash was airlifted to a Sioux City hospital early Monday morning.
Plymouth County authorities say they received a report of debris on the roadway on Highway 75 near Le Mars shortly after 3:00 am Monday. While a Plymouth County Deputy was en route he came upon a single-vehicle crash about a mile from the location first reported, according to authorities.
Deputies say the crash occurred at mile marker 119 on Highway 75. They say a single occupant of the vehicle was seriously injured and airlifted to MercyOne in Sioux City.
Authorities say the accident remains under investigation. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Le Mars Police Department, Le Mars Fire & Rescue and Iowa DOT.
