One Injured In Hawarden Crash

Hawarden, Iowa — One person was taken to the hospital in the aftermath of a single-vehicle crash near Hawarden Friday afternoon (November 3, 2023)

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred shortly after 4:00 Friday afternoon, when a 1998 Dodge Ram, driven by 17-year-old Ronald Bushby of Hawarden was eastbound on Highway 10, two miles east of Hawarden.

Deputies say Bushby lost control of the truck and entered the south ditch.

Authorities say a passenger in the vehicle was transported by the Hawarden Ambulance to Hawarden Regional Health for treatment of minor injuries.

The Ram sustained an estimated $6,000 in damage.

Bushby was reportedly cited for failure to maintain control.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hawarden Ambulance.
