Rock Valley, Iowa — An Orange City man is facing a felony sex-related charge in connection with the investigation into a crime that allegedly happened more than two years ago.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Luis Mateo-Jose was arrested Sunday (November 15th) on a charge of 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse, which is a Class B Felony, for allegedly having illegal sexual contact with a child. The alleged incident was reported in August of this year.
Deputies say their investigation revealed that the alleged sexual assault had occurred approximately two years prior to the August report at a location south of Rock Valley.
Mateo-Jose was placed in the Sioux County Jail, and according to online jail logs, remained in jail as of early Monday afternoon, in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
