Orange City Man Dies In UTV Rollover Accident

Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City man has died as the result of a UTV accident at Orange City on Thursday night.

According to the Orange City Police Department, when officers arrived at 4373 Ironwood Avenue, near the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, they found 37-year-old Nicholas Arthur Garritson of Orange City trapped under a 2013 Can Am Commander.

After the investigation, officers believe the vehicle was traveling on private property and made a tight turn while accelerating. The ATV then rolled onto the driver’s side.

They tell us the Orange City Ambulance transported Garritson to the Orange City Health System Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

A passenger in the UTV, 27-year-old Jonathon Monroe of Paullina, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the Orange City hospital by ambulance.

Orange City officers tell us the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the Orange City Ambulance Squad and the Orange City Fire Department assisted with the response to the accident.
