Orange City Man Faces Felony Drug Charge After Traffic Stop

Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City man was arrested on a felony drug charge on Tuesday, January 5th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports they arrested 31-year-old Geoffrey Oolman of Orange City on Tuesday evening.

The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred on Garfield Street in Granville.

Upon further investigation, the deputy determined Oolman’s driver’s license was barred and alleges that controlled substances and drug paraphernalia were found in his possession.

Oolman was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while his driver’s license privileges were barred, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to jail records, Oolman had been convicted at least twice before for possession of a controlled substance, raising the offense to a class D felony, according to Iowa code.
