Orange City Man Injured In Friday Afternoon Collision

Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City man was taken to the hospital as a result of a two-vehicle collision at an Orange City intersection.

Orange City Police say the mishap occurred around 3:30 Friday afternoon (October 8, 2022) at the intersection of Delaware Avenue Southwest and 5th Street Southwest in Orange City.

According to authorities, a 2008 Ford Expedition, driven by 16-year-old Gerrit Hulstein of Orange City was northbound on Delaware Avenue and stopped for the stop sign at 5th Street Southwest, then pulled into the intersection, colliding with an eastbound 2015 Toyota Highlander, driven by 58-year-old Antonio Salcedo-Puga of Orange City.

Police say Salcedo-Puga was taken to Orange City Health System by the Orange City Ambulance. Hulstein was uninjured in the collision.

Hulstein was reportedly ticketed for Failure to Yield Right of Way From a Stop Sign.
