Orange City Man Taken To Hospital After Accident

Sioux County Iowa, northwest of Fairview, SD — An Orange City man was taken to a hospital after an accident in far western Sioux County on Sunday, June 4th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 5:10 p.m., 34-year-old Jonathon Noteboom, of Orange City was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta eastbound on 290th Street or A54B, 14 miles northwest of Rock Valley, or just north and west of Fairview, South Dakota. They report that he lost control of the vehicle, which struck a mailbox on the right shoulder, entered the south ditch and rolled into a farm field.

The Canton-Inwood Ambulance took Noteboom to Sanford Canton/Inwood Medical Center in Canton.

The Volkswagen sustained about $7,000 in damage. The mailbox sustained an estimated $100 in damage. The field with planted crops sustained about $300 in damage.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Fairview First Responders and Canton-Inwood Ambulance assisted them with the response to the accident, which they say remains under investigation.
