Passenger Injured Early Friday In Single-Vehicle Crash Near Alton

Alton, Iowa — One person was taken to the hospital in the aftermath of a single-vehicle crash near Alton during the wee hours of Friday morning (April 8th).

According to the accident report, at 2:36 Friday morning, the Sioux County Sheriff’s office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 60, one mile south of Alton.

According to authorities, a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 54-year-old Wendy Jeub of Monument, Colorado, was northbound on Highway 60 when she lost control of the SUV and struck a concrete bridge abutment.

Deputies say Jeub was uninjured, but a passenger was transported by the Alton Ambulance to Orange City Area Health for treatment of minor injuries.

The Suburban sustained an estimated $7,500 in damage, according to authorities.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Alton Ambulance, Alton Fire Department, Orange City Police Department and Orange City Ambulance.
