Hull, Iowa — Three people were taken to area hospitals in the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash at the south intersection of Highways 18 and 75, west of Hull
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies were dispatched shortly after 2:00 Monday afternoon to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 75, otherwise known as Perkins Corner, two miles west of Hull.
Deputies say 81-year-old Karen Jurgens, of Hull, was westbound on Highway 18 in a 2016 Hyundai Sante Fe, and had stopped for the stop sign at the 18 & 75 junction, before pulling into the intersection and colliding with a northbound 2014 Buick Encore, driven by 76-year-old John Mantel, of Doon.
Deputies say Jurgens, Mantel and a passenger in Mantel’s Buick were transported by the Hull Ambulance to Hegg Health Center and Sioux Center Health.
The Hyundai sustained approximately $15,000 in damage. The Buick sustained approximately $25,000 in damage.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hull Fire Department, Hull Ambulance and the Sioux Center Police Department.
