Police: Sheldon School Bomb Threat Over The Weekend Was Not Credible

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Police tell us no one was at risk, but a Sheldon school experienced a bomb threat over the weekend.

Details are few, because, as Sheldon Police Chief Scott Burtch says, “The threat was not credible.”

He tells us that the Sheldon Police received a report of a possible threat from a concerned citizen over the weekend. He says an investigation determined there was no credible threat at the time. He says the school worked with the police department during the investigation.

Burtch says, “We appreciate that the public continues to report any possible threats.”

He tells us the threat involved a juvenile or juveniles from the Sheldon Community School District in a prank phone call.

Specifically which school was threatened was not released.
