Primghar Man taken To Hospital In Aftermath Of 2-Vehicle Crash

Primghar, Iowa — A Primghar man was injured in a 2-vehicle accident early Saturday evening in Primghar.

According to a report from the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred shortly before 6:30 Saturday evening when a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan, driven by 34-year-old Tiffany Van Voorst of Le Mars, was eastbound on 3rd Street Southeast. Deputies say Van Voorst stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 59, then proceeded across the highway. Van Voorst’s van was struck in the intersection by a 2012 Kia Sedona minivan, driven by 85-year-old Roger Kammerer of Primghar, which was southbound on Highway 59.

According to authorities, Kammerer was transported by the Sanborn Ambulance to Mercy One in Primghar.

The Van Voorst Pacifica received an estimated $9,000 in damage, while Kammerer’s Kia was estimated to be a total loss.

Deputies say Van Voorst was cited for Failure to Yield When Entering a Through Highway.
