Hospers, Iowa — A Rock Rapids woman was jailed in Sioux County Sunday night after authorities received a complaint that the woman was likely driving her vehicle while under the influence of illegal drugs.
About 11:35 Sunday night, deputies reportedly located 43-year old Amy Huisman, of Rock Rapids on Highland Avenue in Hospers. According to the report, following the complaint, deputies located Huisman on Highland Avenue in Hospers. Authorities say that, upon further investigation, deputies suspected Huisman was intoxicated (drugged) and reportedly discovered she was in possession of illegal drugs. Huisman was arrested for third offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (drugged) and possession of a controlled substance.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) assisted in the investigation.
