Rock Valley Man Arrested For Sexual Abuse

Rock Valley, Iowa — A 28-year old Rock Valley man faces a felony sex charge and a trio of alcohol-related charges following his arrest on Wednesday, December 5th.

Court records indicate that Devin Lee Van Sloten of Rock Valley is accused of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse for allegedly committing a sex act on an underage female at his Rock Valley apartment on November 17th of this year. 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse is a Class C Felony, and if convicted, carries a sentence of up to 10-years in prison and a fine of $1-thousand to $10-thousand.

In addition, Van Sloten is charged with three counts of Supplying Alcohol to a Person Underage, for allegedly supplying alcohol to a 20-year old male, a 16-year old male, and a 15-year old female on November 17th, the same date as the alleged sexual abuse reportedly took place. Supplying Alcohol to a Person Underage is a Serious Misdemeanor, and if convicted, carries a potential sentence of up to one year in jail and a fine of between $315 and $1875.

According to the Sioux County Jail Booking Log, Van Sloten was jailed in lieu of a $10-thousand bond. At last report, he remained incarcerated at the Sioux County Jail at Orange City.
