Rock Valley Man Taken To Hospital After Accident

Ireton, Iowa — A Rock Valley man was taken to a hospital after an accident on Wednesday morning.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says that about 9:40 a.m.,39-year-old Milton Timmer of Sioux Center was driving a 2006 Peterbilt semi‐truck pulling a feed trailer southbound on Eagle Avenue. At that time, 76-year-old Edward Bakker of Rock Valley was driving a 2002 GMC Safari northbound on Eagle Avenue.

According to the sheriff’s office, Bakker entered the southbound lane and the two struck.

They say the Ireton Ambulance took Bakker to the Sioux Center Health Hospital.

The Peterbilt sustained about $9,000 in damage. The GMC sustained about $8,000 in damage.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Ireton Ambulance Squad, the Ireton Fire Department, and the Hawarden Police Department assisted them with the response to the accident.
