Sioux Center, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman and a Le Mars man were taken to the hospital after an accident near Sioux Center on Monday.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, April 24, at 10:45 a.m., 37-year-old Angelica Hiykel of Rock Valley, IA, was driving a 1999 Buick Regal southbound on Garfield Avenue, about three miles west of Sioux Center. The report says she stopped at the intersection of Garfield and 390th Street. At that time, 27-year-old Anthony Stotts-Westra of Le Mars was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala eastbound on 390th Street. Hiykel entered the intersection and the vehicles collided.
The Sioux Center Ambulance took Hiykel and Stotts-Westra to Sioux Center Health.
Damage to the Hiykel Buick was estimated at $8,000, with damage to the Impala estimated at $10,000.
The sheriff’s office reports that the Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident.
