Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman was taken to a hospital after an accident near Rock Valley on Saturday, October 28th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 3:40 p.m., 20-year-old Emalee Nelson of Rock Valley, was driving a 2007 Ford Edge northbound on Elmwood Avenue, four miles south of Rock Valley, when she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west ditch.
The Rock Valley Ambulance Squad took Nelson to Hegg Health Center Avera for treatment of her injuries.
Deputies say the Ford sustained about $10,000 damage.
Nelson was cited on a charge of failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle — accident-related.
The sheriff’s office says the Rock Valley Police Department, Rock Valley Fire Department, and Rock Valley Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident.
