Sanborn, Iowa — A 35-year-old Sanborn man was arrested for Felony OWI late Thursday afternoon in Sanborn.
According to court documents, Brandon Lee Espeland was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence on the west edge of Sanborn about 4:45 Thursday afternoon.
Deputies say Espeland allegedly exhibited watery, bloodshot eyes and failed multiple field sobriety tests before being taken into custody and transported to the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar.
According to court records, Espeland has a previous O’Brien County OWI conviction dating back to 2012 and a second out of Osceola County back in 2018. Since the latest charge would be his 3rd offense, the crime is elevated to a Class D Felony.
