One Injured In Rear-End Collision Near Sioux Center

Sioux Center, Iowa — One person went to the hospital following a 2-vehicle crash north of Sioux Center Friday afternoon.

According to information from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, about 3:35 Friday afternoon a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by 23-year-old Kellee Eastwood of Jeffers Minnesota, was southbound on Highway 75, a mile north of Sioux Center, when it slowed for other vehicles and was struck from the rear by a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 18-year-old Carter Hanson of Alcester South Dakota.

Deputies say Hanson was transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries.  

The Chevy sustained approximately $3,000 in damage. The Pontiac sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage.

Hanson was cited for following too close.  

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Ambulance, Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Police Department.
