Sanborn, Iowa — a Sanborn man was slightly injured when he rolled his pickup early Tuesday morning north of Sanborn.
According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened shortly before 12:30 Tuesday morning on Highway 59, near Roosevelt Avenue. They say 31-year old Eliseo Hernandez-Pacheco of Sanborn was southbound on Highway 59 in a 2004 Ford pickup, when the truck wandered off onto the west shoulder. Hernandez-Pacheco then lost control, and when he attempted to regain control of the truck, swerved across the roadway into the east ditch, striking a traffic sign, before rolling the truck onto it’s roof.
Deputies say damage to the pickup was estimated at $12-thousand, with damage to the traffic sign estimated at $100.
Authorities say Hernandez-Pacheco had suspected minor injuries, according to the report, but was not taken to the hospital. He was ticketed for Failure To Maintain Control, and No Valid Driver’s License, according to deputies.
