Semi Driver Taken To Hospital After Rolling Semi

Iowa, Near Hudson, SD — A semi driver was taken to the hospital and the semi he was driving sustained significant damage in an accident on Thursday, April 2nd on the Iowa side of the river near Hudson, South Dakota.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 9:52 p.m., Gustavo Rodriguez was driving a 2014 Freightliner semi-truck pulling a tank trailer westbound on 360th Street 10 miles southwest of Rock Valley, or just east of Hudson, South Dakota on Sioux County Road B30.

The report says Rodriguez lost control of the semi, which entered the south ditch. The vehicle and trailer came to rest on its side on the roadway.

The Hudson Ambulance Squad took Rodriguez to Hegg Health Center Avera.

The Freightliner and trailer sustained about $100,000 in damage.

The sheriff’s office reports that the Hudson Fire Department and Hudson Ambulance Squad assisted at the scene.
