Semi Trailer Strikes Pickup

sioux county sheriff emblemSheldon, Iowa — A Semi trailer and a pickup were damaged in an accident on  Tuesday, February 3rd.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 48-year-old Charles Strouth of Sheldon was driving a 1999 Ford F-250 westbound on Highway 18, one mile west of Sheldon. Sixty-four-year-old Jerry Kreykes of Sheldon was driving a 2014 Peterbuilt semi tractor pulling a tank trailer westbound on Highway 18 behind Strouth.

According to the report Kreykes attempted to pass Strouth on the right and when he re-entered the westbound lane, the trailer struck Strouth.

The Ford received $2500 in damages. The trailer recieved $100 damage.

No injuries were reported

Kreykes was cited for unlawful passing at an intersection.
