Inwood Woman Transported To Hospital After Accident

Inwood, Iowa — An Inwood woman was taken to a hospital after an accident near Inwood on Saturday, January 31, 2015.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department reports that about 5:50 PM, 39-year-old Jody Van Regenmorter of Inwood was driving a 2008 Cadillac eastbound on A42, three miles east of Inwood. Twenty-three-year-old Marco De La Cruz of Inwood was southbound on Dipper Avenue. The deputy says De La Cruz failed to stop at the intersection and struck Van Regenmorter’s Cadillac on the front driver’s side.

The Canton-Inwood Ambulance transported Van Regenmorter to a hospital.

Her vehicle received about $10,000 in damages and De La Cruz’s Toyota received approximately $2000 in damages.

De La Cruz was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated, failure to have a valid license, failure to maintain control, and failure to obey a stop sign.

The Inwood Fire Department, Inwood Rescue crew, Canton-Inwood Ambulance crew, and the Iowa State Patrol assisted on the scene.
