Sergeant Bluff Woman Injured In Car vs Deer Crash Near Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sergeant Bluff woman was injured Wednesday morning when her car struck a deer West of Sheldon.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 8:00 Wednesday morning, a 2005 Toyota Camry, driven by 42-year-old Trisha Knutson, of Sergeant Bluff, was westbound on 330th Street, about a mile west of Glen’s Sport Center, when she struck a deer on the roadway.

Deputies say Knutson was taken to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team for treatment of what are described as minor injuries.

Damage to her Toyota was estimated at approximately $2,000.

Sioux County deputies were assisted by the Sheldon Police Department, Sheldon Fire Department and SCAT.
