Sheldon Couple Hit Deer Near Alton

deer portrait iowa dnrAlton, Iowa — A Sheldon couple escaped serious injury early Sunday morning when their car struck a deer near Alton.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says shortly before 12:30 Sunday morning, a 2012 Buick Lacrosse, driven by 46-year old Timothy Dagel of Sheldon, was northbound on Highway 60 when he struck a deer on the roadway.

Dagel and a passenger, 44-year old Tricia Dagel of Sheldon, reported minor injuries and sought medical treatment on their own.

Deputies estimated damage to Dagel’s Buick at about $6500.
