Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Fire Company responded to two alarms at Fieldcrest Assisted Living Tuesday night.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Brad Hindt, the first call came in at 8:28 Tuesday night, and was for a general smoke alarm. Once they arrived on scene, firefighters located a troubled head in one of the building’s apartments. Hindt says no smoke was found in the room.
Firefighters were assisted on scene by the Sheldon Police Department, Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, Sheldon EMA, and O’Brien County EMA.
Hindt says the Fire Department was back in the station at 9:00 pm.
Just eighteen minutes later, firefighters were called back to Fieldcrest, this time for a general fire alarm. Hindt says firefighters found a low air pressure sensor caused the alarm. Sheldon Fire was assisted on the second call by O’Brien County EMA.
Firefighters were back at the station at 11:00 pm.
