Sheldon Police Investigate Residential Burglary

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Police are investigating a residential burglary that was reported to them this past Friday, August 21st.

According to a report from the Sheldon Police Department, sometime between 2:00 am and 4:00 am on Monday, August 17th, a person or persons unknown illegally entered a residence in the 800 block of 22nd Avenue in Sheldon and made off with almost $500 worth of beer, sodas, athletic shoes and tools.

Taken, according to the report, was a 12-pack of beer, valued at $12; a green Craftsman tool bag containing hand tools, valued at $100; a red Milwaukee tool bag containing a cordless drill, valued at $300; a new pair of Nike shoes, valued at $60; and three to four 6-packs of soda, valued at $10.

Police say the crime is classified as 2nd Degree Burglary, which is a Class C Felony.

The investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.
