Sheldon Woman Taken To Hospital After Crash

Sheldon, Iowa– A Sheldon woman was taken to the hospital after a crash in Sheldon on Friday, January 30, 2026.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that at about 5:35 a.m., 25-year-old Amy Hamann of Sheldon was driving a 2021 Nissan on 11th Street near 3rd Avenue in Sheldon.

The report says that the driver told the officer that she passed out at the wheel while driving her vehicle. Her Nissan hit a parked vehicle, which flipped her car over. The vehicle she hit was also pushed into the vehicle in front of it, causing minor damage. Both of the parked vehicles were unoccupied.

The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team took Hamann to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

Hamann’s Nissan sustained $10,000 in damages, which totaled the vehicle. The vehicle it struck, a 2013 Chevrolet, sustained $5000 in damages, and the vehicle that that vehicle struck was a 2025 Chevrolet, which sustained $1000 in damages.

According to the report, no charges were filed.
