Sheriff’s Office Seeks Information On Hit-And-Run Accident On Highway 75 Northwest of Hull

Hull, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help to find more information about an accident that sent a Steen, Minnesota man to the hospital.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 19th, 56-year-old Harlan Kruid of Steen, Minnesota was driving a 2021 Kenworth semi-tractor northbound on Highway 75 between the railroad overpasses northwest of Hull, when a brown or tan Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a cattle trailer traveling southbound on Highway 75 allegedly entered the northbound lane and side-swiped Kruid. The Peterbilt did not stop and continued southbound on Highway 75.

The Hull Ambulance took Kruid to Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids.

Damage to the Kenworth was estimated at $800, but it is unknown what damage occurred to the Peterbilt.

They tell us the Hull Ambulance Squad, Hull Fire Department, and the Sioux Center Police Department assisted with the response to the accident.
