Sioux Center Man Injured In Pickup vs Semi Accident

Ireton, Iowa — A Sioux Center man was injured about 8:00 Thursday morning, when his pickup collided with a semi, north of Ireton.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado Pickup, driven by 54-year-old Daniel Vanden Bosch of Sioux Center, was westbound on 420th Street and a 2015 Kenworth semi-tractor pulling a hopper grain trailer, driven by 22-year-old Jakob Van Noort of Hawarden was southbound on Eagle Avenue when the vehicles collided in the intersection.

Troopers note in their report that their was fog in the area at the time of the crash.

Vanden Bosch was transported to the Sioux Center Hospital for treatment of what troopers describe as “minor” injuries. Van Noort escaped injury.

Troopers estimate damage to Van Noort’s semi at $50,000, with damage to the Vanden Bosch pickup estimated at $25,000.
