Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center woman was taken to a hospital after an accident on Wednesday, November 30th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 6:45 p.m., 37-year-old Kurtis Rietema of Kansas City, Kansas was driving a 2007 Nissan Frontier southbound Highway 75, about two miles south of Sioux Center. They say 41-year-old Joanna Gross of Sioux Center was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty northbound on Highway 75. Rietema lost control of his vehicle, which entered the northbound lane and struck the Gross vehicle.
The Sioux Center Ambulance took Gross to the Sioux Center Hospital.
The report says the Rietema Nissan sustained about $8,500 in damage, and the Gross Jeep sustained about $4,500 in damage.
Officers cited Rietema on a charge of failure to yield half of the roadway.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Sioux Center Fire Department, Sioux Center Ambulance crew and the Sioux Center Police Department assisted them with the accident.
