Sioux Falls Man Arrested In Lyon County For 5th Offense OWI

Rock Rapids, Iowa — The report of an unresponsive driver led to a felony charge against a Sioux Falls man Wednesday in Rock Rapids.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says their communications center received the report of an unresponsive driver at 2nd Avenue and Green Street in Rock Rapids Wednesday. Deputies say when they arrived on the scene they identified the driver as 37-year-old Matthew Hollister of Sioux Falls. Authorities report their investigation led them to believe that Hollister was under the influence.

Deputies say they placed Hollister under arrest and transported him to the Lyon County Jail, charged with 5th Offense OWI, a Class D Felony. The Sheriff’s Office says Hollister was also cited for Failure to Have a Valid Driver’s License and stopping on the paved portion of the roadway.

If convicted on the OWI charge, Hollister could face up to 5-years in prison.
