Paullina, Iowa — A skid loader was damaged in a fire on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in Paullina.

According to Paullina Fire Chief Brytton Kelleher, at about 8:40 p.m., the Paullina Fire Department was called to the report of a skid loader on fire on its side at 605 South Maple Street in far southeast Paullina.

When they got there, the chief says the fire department saw the skid loader on its side, on fire, which they extinguished.

Kelleher says no injuries were reported to people, pets, or livestock.

He says the driver of the skid loader had been using it to move trees when it tipped into the burn pile he was dragging a tree into.

Chief Kelleher reports that the damage to the skid loader was significant.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about half an hour.
