Skid Loader Destroyed In Little Rock Area Fire

Little Rock, Iowa — A skid loader was destroyed in a fire on Thursday, January 8, 2026, near Little Rock.

According to Little Rock Fire Chief Austin Kannegieter, at about 1:00 p.m., the Lester Fire Department was called to the report of a skid loader fire at 1152 Kiwi Avenue, four miles west and about two and a half north of Little Rock.

When they got there, the chief says the fire department saw the skid loader fully engulfed. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.

Kannegieter says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined, but he says it started in the engine compartment.

Chief Kannegieter reports that the skid loader was totaled in the fire.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
