South Carolina Man Taken To Hospital After Crash Near Maurice

Maurice, Iowa — A South Carolina man was taken to a hospital after a crash near Maurice on Saturday.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says that shortly after 5:30 p.m., 33-year-old Brandon Hill of Moncks Corner, SC, was driving a 1994 GMC Sierra K1500 northbound on Highway 75, one mile south of Maurice, when he lost control of the pickup, which entered the east ditch, and rolled multiple times.

Hill was transported to Sioux Center Health for injuries sustained in the accident.

The GMC sustained approximately $8,000 in damage.

Hill was cited on charges of failure to maintain control, failure to provide financial responsibility, and failure to wear seat belt.

The sheriff’s office says the Maurice First Responders, Sioux Center EMS, and Sioux Center Police Department assisted with the response to the crash, which they say remains under investigation.
