Sheldon, Iowa — Three people from Sheldon have been arrested on felony drug-related charges after Sheldon Police Officers carried out a search warrant on Tuesday, April 4th.
According to criminal complaints filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sheldon Police Department, 35-year-old David Wallinga, 41-year-old Sarah Goodwin, and 28-year-old Thomas Stephens, all of Sheldon, are accused of the possession of drugs. They were arrested on Tuesday.
In the complaint, the officer writes that Wallinga was allegedly found in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine, and prescription medication. Goodwin was allegedly found in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine, and Stephens was allegedly found in possession of marijuana.
Wallinga, Goodwin, and Stephens were all charged with gathering where controlled substances are used, a class D felony; and misdemeanor drug possession charges. If convicted, they could face up to five years in prison on the felony counts.
All three face a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, April 25th.
According to O’Brien County Jail staff, they have all had initial appearances and have been released from custody on their own recognizance.
