Sioux Center, Iowa — Three vehicles were damaged in an accident south of Sioux Center on Wednesday, August 16th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 7:00 am on Wednesday, 44-year-old David Leraas of LeMars was driving a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on Highway 75, 2 miles south of Sioux Center. Fifty-four-year-old Ronnie Alexander of Galva was driving a 1999 Buick LeSabre northbound on Highway 75, behind Leraas. 31-year-old Joshua Schmitz of LeMars was driving a 2004 Dodge Dakota northbound on Highway 75, behind Alexander. According to the report, Leraas stopped for a turning vehicle ahead of him and Schmitz struck Alexander. The impact pushed Alexander forward, striking Leraas.
The Pontiac received $5,000 damage. The Buick received $4,000 damage; the Dodge received $4,000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
