Two Injured In Collision West Of Primghar

Primghar, Iowa — Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle collision west of Primghar late Friday morning.

O’Brien County authorities say the mishap occurred about 11:30 Friday morning when a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 25-year-old Anna Hofmeyer of Granville, was southbound on Oriole Avenue and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection with 390th Street. Deputies say Hofmeyer then pulled into the intersection, into the path of an eastbound 2016 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 77-year-old Marlo Zeutenhorst of Sioux Center. Authorities say Zeutenhorst broadsided Hofmeyer’s car, which left the roadway, entering the southeast ditch, and coming to rest. The Zeutenhorst car came to rest on the southeast corner of the intersection, according to deputies.

Zeutenhorst was transported to Mercy One in Primghar by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, while Hofmeyer was taken to Sanford Sheldon by her husband.

Deputies say they ticketed Hofmeyer for Failure To Yield Right Of Way From A Stop Sign.

Damage to Hofmeyer’s Malibu was estimated at nearly $6800, with damage to the Zeutenhorst Impala estimated at about $7800.
