Orange City, Iowa– Two Orange City teens were taken to the hospital after an accident in Orange City on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
The Orange City Police Department reports that a few minutes before 6:00 p.m., 22-year-old Dylan Brands of Hospers was driving a 2007 Chevy pickup northbound on Albany Avenue in Orange City. They tell us that 15-year-old Emily Oordt of Orange City was northbound on Albany, in front of Brands in a 2000 Buick.
The report says that the Oordt vehicle was stationary in traffic, with its turn signal on, waiting to turn left onto 18th Street Northeast, when the Brands pickup came up behind the Oordt Buick and struck it in the rear.
The Orange City Ambulance took Oordt, and a passenger in her vehicle, 17-year-old Jenna Oordt to Orange City Health System Hospital.
Brands’s Chevy pickup sustained $5000 in damages, and Oordt’s Buick sustained $8000 in damages.
