Westfield, Iowa — Two people have died in an accident in rural Plymouth County.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday evening, April 13, 2023, at about 5:40 p.m., they received a call of a two-vehicle crash with serious injuries. The crash was on K18 just north of Butcher Road in southwest Plymouth County, about seven miles southeast of Westfield. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office says they confirm that two people died as a result of the crash. However, they tell us that no other information will be released until the families involved have all been notified.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Akron Fire Department and Ambulance Squad, the Iowa State Patrol, the Plymouth County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Mercy AirCare assisted with the response to the accident, which, they say is being investigated by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office/ Le Mars Police Department accident investigation team.
