Two People Injured In Boyden Crash

Boyden, Iowa — Two people were taken to area hospitals following a 2-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Boyden.

According to Sioux County authorities, the mishap occurred shortly before 4:30 Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 18 and Colfax Street in Boyden.

Deputies say 45-year-old Jennifer Iedema, of Archer, was eastbound on Highway 18, driving a 2015 Dodge Durango. 82-year-old Donna Meyer, of Boyden, was also eastbound on Highway 18, behind Iedema’s SUV, driving a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander minivan. According to the report, Iedema slowed for another turning vehicle and was struck from the rear by Meyer’s minivan.

According to authorities, a passenger in the Dodge was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to Orange City Area Health for treatment of minor injuries. A passenger in the Chevrolet was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Meyer was cited for following too close.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance.
