Two Sioux County Residents Taken To Hospital After Accident In Boyden

Boyden, Iowa — Two Sioux County residents were taken to a hospital after an accident in Boyden on Sunday, September 8.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that a few minutes after 6:00 p.m., 85-year-old Donna Meyer of Boyden was driving a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan eastbound on Highway 18. They report that 16-year-old Alyssa Cherveny of Alton was driving a 2014 Ford Escape westbound on Highway 18. As the two met, they struck in the middle of the roadway.

The Boyden Ambulance took both drivers to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.

The Dodge sustained approximately $12,000 in damage. The Ford sustained approximately $20,000 in damage.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance Squad.

This accident is currently under investigation.
