Woman Sentenced For Role In Boyden Stabbing

Orange City, Iowa — A Sioux County woman has been sentenced in connection with a stabbing that happened in Boyden in June.

According to court records, 38-year-old Susana Ochoa had been charged with Willful Injury, A Class C Felony, but plea-bargained the charge down to a misdemeanor charge of Disorderly Conduct – Fighting or Violent Behavior.

The charge stemmed from an incident that took place on Sunday, June 23rd. According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, a domestic disturbance occurred inside a Boyden residence early that Sunday morning, and they say their investigation allegedly revealed that Ochoa had stabbed a male victim with a knife during that altercation. The victim was reportedly later airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital.

Ochoa was sentenced to three days in the county jail, with credit for time served, plus a $100 fine, surcharge, and court costs.
