Child Abuse Investigation Leads To Multiple Felony Charges Against Melvin Pair

Melvin, Iowa — An investigation into allegations of child abuse has landed a Melvin pair in jail on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday (September 17th) their deputies arrested 40-year-old Donna Rae Reisdorfer and 36-year-old Derek Michael White, both of Melvin. The pair are each accused of one count of Child Endangerment-Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person, which is a Class C Felony, along with three counts of Child Endangerment with Bodily Injury, a Class D Felony, Administering Harmful Substances, a Class D Felony and Child Endangerment, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

Authorities say that, as of Friday afternoon, both Reisdorfer and White were each being held in the Osceola County Jail lieu of a $32,000 bond.
