George Pair Face Abuse, Drug Charges

George, Iowa — What started out as someone calling 911 and then hanging up has resulted in several charges against two George residents.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday, April 7th, someone in George called their 911 line and then hung up. When deputies arrived to investigate the 911 call, the Sheriff’s Office says they discovered an on-going domestic assault. During the investigation deputies also discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia.

After concluding an investigation into the domestic assault, deputies arrested 33-year-old Joshua Zieroth of George, and charged him with domestic abuse by strangulation and two counts of child endangerment, all aggravated misdemeanors.

They also arrested 28-year-old Elizabeth Faron of George on charges of domestic abuse, a simple misdemeanor, and two counts of child endangerment, both aggravated misdemeanors.

Deputies say they then applied for and received a search warrant for the home. In carrying out the search warrant, deputies found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Zieroth was further charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, all serious misdemeanors and three counts of drug paraphernalia, all simple misdemeanors. Faron was additionally charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, which are serious misdemeanors and two counts possession of drug paraphernalia, which are simple misdemeanors.
