One To Hospital Following Hull Area Crash

Hull, Iowa — A Sioux Falls resident was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision southeast of Hull Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at the intersection of Indian Avenue and 340th Street, three miles southeast of Hull, shortly after 1:20 pm.

Authorities say 32-year-old Derek Vis, of Hull, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala eastbound on 340th Street, and 53-year-old Andrae Harrison, of Sioux Falls, was driving a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter delivery van northbound on Indian Avenue. Deputies say the two met and collided in the intersection.

Harrison was transported by the Hull Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of his injuries. Vis reported minor injuries but declined further medical attention.

The Vis Chevrolet sustained approximately $8,000 in damage, while Harrison’s van sustained approximately $20,000 in damage.

Vis was cited for failure to yield right of way to a vehicle on the right, according to authorities.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hull Ambulance and Hull Fire Department.
