Orange City Woman Injured In OC Crash

Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City woman was taken to the hospital following a traffic accident in Orange City Wednesday afternoon.

According to the accident report from the Orange City Police Department, the mishap took place about 3:45 Wednesday afternoon (November 18th) when a 1997 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Rodney Vanden Hul, of Orange City, backed from a parking space along Albany Avenue, in front of Oolman Funeral Home. Police say as Vanden Hul backed from the parking space his truck struck  the front end of a 2009 Dodge van, driven by Angela Peterson, of Orange City. After the collision, Vanden Hul’s pickup then moved forward, striking a 2008 Chevrolet Impala that was parked in the space just to the left of the space where Vanden Hul had been parked.

Officers say Peterson was transported to the Orange City Area Health System by the Alton Ambulance. Vanden Hul was uninjured in the mishap.

Police estimate damage to Vanden Hul’s pickup at $2500, while damage to Peterson’s van were estimated at $4,000, with $500 damage estimated to the parked Impala.
